Finally after what seems like forever my earring that I won at silent auction came in!

and that is the cardigan that will not fit me :( it does look pretty blocked though doesnt it ? I need to put a blocking board on my X-mas list

and Last but not lest my secret obession I love love love these earrings this just my lastest shipment of them (well I got them 2 weeks ago I think) but love them and wear them all which I have a ton of theses

Spindles and Handspun

have a Golding spindle isn't she pretty ? of course that's not roving that's holding it up but the color does make it pop! A very good friend of mine on Plurk sold it to me and I cant wait to try it out! though I don't think it will be for a very long time :(



I bought another spindle awhile back and use that one before the Golding arrived and as you can see I really gave it a good work out it held up every well under all the pressure as you can see I showed no mercy filling the spindle to the breaking point (meaning mine not the spindle and yes my wrist still hurt )




but sadly when all was said and spun all I got was 73 yards but from my first try with it I got 13 giving me a grand total of 86 yards in a way I'm kind of sad because I was hoping for more yardage it did fill up the spindle but alas I am still learning and really its not that bad I think its pretty good for my use of a top whorl :) and the more I use it the better Ill get at least I hope

The Sock Curse Is Broken !

Okay remember the pretty spindle I bought? well apparently I forgot how to spin and ended up making my yarn way to thick for the little guy to handle and had to chuck it but I was able to save some of it which came out to 13 yards (thanks Plurk Pals for helping me figure out how to get the yardage ) So now I wen back and re drafted and here it is much better looking I think don't you?





And yes it is done finally after almost 4 months my first sock is finished I didn't think I would finish and to be honest I almost threw it somewhere but in the end I did it! I am that I learned to make socks but if I had to do over again I wouldn't choose this colorway it didn't turn out the way I thought :( plus I did bind of too loose but all in all it is comfy and I am proud of thought when asked or praise I do have to point out its flaw cause I'm like that

This just the first one I couldn't wait and had to share it ! I be starting the second one soon ! but all that matters at least to me is that I finally did it! and i broke the sock curse ! woot!!!

I am weak (like we all didn't know that) and I went to TLE and bought my self some goodies that I really didn't need yet had to have! And I don't know whats up with the girls at TLE but wow guy the shipping was really fast on this!

A Surprise Package that made my Day!

This going to be a somewhat short post today first let me say I am addicted to FFF!!!!



I went on little buying spree after I was told I need a scan which turned out to just my sinus I know I am weak

but no sooner had bought that when this arrived in the mail



I want to thank my plurk buddy ibmomof2 for these lovely gifts and the the good karma that came with them !
it was very nice and sweet surprise to get when I was feeling really really crappy and depressed to be honest I wanted to cry because
I never expected anything like that and because I felt like I didn't deserve to get that and have a friend like her so *hugs* to her again an thank you!

I'm not sure the yardage on the yarn it looks enough to make socks but I don't wanna risk it with my huge feet lol so its going to become a lace scarf the stitch markers are going to use soon with this shawl I just casted on the bag is great I think its coming with me next time I go shopping

Before I forget there was also a cute little book in the package too but it was in my knitting basket and I forgot about :(

a Book and Spindle Review and I gots Roving too

2 times in one week I am on fire! Well that and alot of shopping gives a girl alot to blog about this came in yesterday

This gave me a chance to try out my new spindle which i got fromhttp://www.blogger.com/www.rosegardenfibers.artfire.com the spindle is very light weight to use I'm still learning to spin so I had keep a tight hold on it . It is my first top whorl spindle and well being the genius I am sometimes I thought the little notch in it was just to make it unique no its so the yarn can be held making much easier to spin its spinning up the roving like a dream I have to be honest as pretty as the spindle is and as much as I like it I did have doubts. It is small and the one I learned on is much bigger but this one I am in love with and very happy I bought it I think my yarn is turning out better .

Yes that's right today is the day Wendy Knits new Book is here in my hot little hands and for those of you thinking it I did not hurt the UPS guy too Bad lol!

I really Just flipped threw but even doing so I found a ton of things I love! and only one I didn't

Wendy gives great tutorials on casting on for toe up socks the different castons so don't have

google them like me because I'm just starting out Its nice to see how the toes look and know you didn't mess up there is also a part on how to

fix the holes at the top of the heel which I need there is also a chapter on LACE socks I love it! I am a huge fan of Lace

and there are a few other that are not lace that I like too I also liked that what she says about Knee socks

she also give a tutorial on magic loop (which I need to learn)


the only thing I did not like is Cables! Just Kidding only because I cant do them

but the book is really and I can not wait to Cast on !

If you haven't pre ordered it or ordered there might be something wrong with you just sayin you need to buy this book what are waiting for GO! now !

I fell in love wih this spindle and well that's all really remember the next thing I knew money was gone from my account and it was at my door! its so pretty and lightweight Ive never had a top whorl before (is that right I always get them confused) I think this is going to make great lace hand spun and I highly recommend you check her out

Also I got my hat ! from the hat exchange I joined on Rav and I love it the chocolate was sooo good too I love the color and its a great fit my partner did a wonderful job knitting ! I am so jealous of the talent !
